Structural Glazing

frameless glass structures

Glass has reached a point where its strong material properties teamed up with special rigid interlayers, enables us to engineer a complete assembly without the need for steel or heavy framework. Creating a light touch to the fabric of a historic building, without deterring from its existing architectural merit. Or the option of going completely contemporary with large panels to create a dramatic showpiece, structural glass is versatile and the capabilities are now vast.

Walls

Structural glass walls with hidden perimeter frame and minimal structural silicone butt joints for unobscured views.

Links

Great way to link the old and new, creating a contrast – which works well on extensions in conservation areas.

Eaves

An ‘up and over’ frameless window is effective from architectural aesthetics but also grabbing daylight, as it’s working vertically and horizontally.

Glass Floors

Internal and external glass floors, typically to bring light down a building or into a basement. With anti slip options available.

Roof Glazing

Bring natural light into your room with a frameless aesthetic internally and a robust weathered detail externally. In either a single panel (up to 18m²) or multiple panes with silicone butt joints.

Balustrades

Glass balustrades without the requirement for handrails, with an enhanced option of ‘clear-edge’ to finish open laminate edges.

Gables

Maximise the daylight into you home and the view out, a feature gable to add grandeur with a vaulted ceiling.

Side return extensions

To increase the habitable space and value of comfort in your home, with seamless integration to any of our opening doors or windows.

Glass Box Extensions

A contemporary structure to relax or dine in, self-supporting glass with opening elements integrated harmoniously.

Oriel Windows

Craft an area to create a seat that makes you feel outside, but warm and dry during the winter, a cosy spot for wellbeing.

Glass Beams

Transparent support for larger spans of glass.

Curved Glass

To continue the architectural language of a project, still retaining function for insulation, solar and strength.

the ox approach

We take a holistic approach to structural glazing, as glass units can be processed readily at 18m² (and beyond!), which is brilliant, but we need to collaborate with architects, homeowners and contractors to further knowledge of glass and its capabilities, together with how to get the units on site safely and without risk of damage. So, we adopt our holistic approach and look not only at the intricate architectural detail to successfully interface glass to the building beautifully, but also its journey from design to processing, import, delivery, handling, installation and after care. All to ensure a smooth project and longevity of our glass to be enjoyed for many years by our customers.
